Mike Lister is looking forward to collaborating with international teams of site-specific performance makers in Cape Town, South Africa, February 2009. This initiative is “infecting the city”. Brett Bailey is curator of this exciting City Centre project. "Infecting the City" will be within the Spier Performing Arts Festival. One objective of this Festival is to enliven public spaces of the inner city with bold, high-quality outdoor performance works. The long term goal is to develop a vibrant culture of site-specific work in the region.

Darwin's Cabinet of Species
Dawin's Cabinet is proposed as the climactic element of theatre project, "REvolution"
A large scale interactive show, inspired by the scientific observations of Charles Darwin:
in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the publication of his book “On the Origin of Species”.
This outdoor theatrical show will be composed of elements that have proved to be effective in street theatre. i.e. the show will contain both intimate detailed characterisation and large-scale visual spectacle. There will be direct interaction with the audience to engage the public’s interest and sense of being part of a theatrical event and a spectacular and unexpected finale will be produced to surprise and delight the audience.
performance will be devised by a collaboration between some of England’s most experienced street arts companies.
